    • Marketing consulting services

    • Pricing and fee setting

    • Proposal writing

  • Consultative selling skills

  • How to present with impact

  • Networking skills

  • Relationship marketing at the dining table - including board room dining etiquette

Ian has extensive consultancy experience.  Over 8,000 practising or prospective consultants have attended his sessions.  Most of his work is in Sydney and Melbourne with regular engagements in Brisbane and Canberra.

Ian provides help for consultants in four ways.

1. Consulting firms and corporate clients can engage Ian to provide a consultancy service to help achieve their business objectives through in-house training and consulting.

2. You can attend one of the public workshops occasionally run in eastern Australian state capitals.

3. You can purchase his book

4. You can engage Ian for personal or small group coaching.

Training

For and in...

  • Consulting firms - in consulting skills and business skills  - marketing, networking, pricing, winning business, presenting, influencing.

  • Internal consultants within corporations, universities and government departments.

  • Independent consultants and small firms in 'How to be a Successful Consultant' and other workshops.

  • Members of Professional Associations including CPA Australia and other national bodies in all Australian states, the ACT, New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong since 1991.

Facilitation

  • Partners' Meetings in two legal firms and an accounting firm

  • Directors' Meetings in Consulting firms

  • Directors' Meetings in professional service organisations.

The business of the meetings includes:

  • Special purpose problem solving - changeover of key positions, strategy blockages, budget shortfall, management of growth

  • Strategy and direction setting

  • Building ownership of the organisation (by its Directors)

Speaking

  • More recently, Ian has addressed many networking functions in eastern states:  Over 400 people at one session in Noosa, and repeat engagements with QUT, PMI, ADF and others.

  • At conferences of consultants including independent, engineering, agricultural, forestry, medical research, financial, educational, management and others

  • Leads on consulting in the ABC Radio / Open University series on Managing Small Business

  • To business meetings of many organisations

Writing

Ian's differentiator -

  1. Overwhelmingly practical:  theory is applied – often judged ‘best take home’ material at conferences.

  2. Ian delivers in an authentic Australian context - a natural style unaffected by the models of delivery of the instant wealth set!

  3. Each workshop or address provides for immediate implementation - what to do and how to do it.

  4. Ian works extensively with professional groups - people who earn their living by charging fees.  He has worked with them and for them and is often re-engaged.

  5. Within his client base, the major groups are consultants (External and Internal), accountants, lawyers, financial services and medicos. If you belong to this group, you will find the context of delivery and examples relevant to you and your people.

  6. He is entertaining!  Time flies:  learn, reflect, relax, meet others and make decisions about what to do next...

Why engage him?

  • The presentation will be relevant to your audience as Ian prepares thoroughly.

  • Your people will feel keen to get on with their job, knowing what to do next.

  • Your people will feel good after the presentation – they learn, laugh and know what to do as the next steps towards their own objectives.
